Breathe London Community Programme node detects fire in Harrow

A fire under railway arches in South Harrow in the early hours of the morning was detected by a nearby Breathe London Community Programme node detecting a peak in PM2.5 particulates of 27 ug/m3 - almost twice the World Health Organisation daily guideline.

London Fire Brigade report there are no injuries and the fire is under control, though there has been significant disruption to communities on the Piccadilly Line this morning. LBF report that they are likely to have a significant presence at the scene throughout the day as they assess damage.

The indecent highlights the importance of hyperlocal monitoring in conjunction with reference monitoring to pick up local events in near real time.
